A little history that you should know about Cuttin Up Radio.  As a fan of Gayle King, each morning I wake up with her witty, kind heart and she is so much fun, especially when she goes to see a great movie, or she enjoys certain topics of interest, you find your laughing with her.  My time with God each morning along with Gayle provides my day with much inspiration.  I created Cuttin Up Radio after Gayle, because she is Cuttin Up and always providing many laughs and a few tears, however overall, she has provided me the direction to provide my listeners with great topics of interest, helpful and inspiring.  If you have not listened to Oprah Radio on XM, you must, Gayle comes on bright and early and fills your day with so much inspiration, I love you Gayle, and hope to have her on my show soon!

Cuttin Up Radio was created on the foundation that I created with The Candle Ranch, my business for which I create Candles For A Purpose, a way I choose to give back to those non-profit organizations that are making a huge difference in the lives of others. Many of the organizations such as Plan It Now, Tough Enough To Wear Pink, Western Wishes, Riding High Ministries, Farm Aid, Saddle Up, Aquathon, Team Pink, just to name a few, provide so much assistance to so many of our neighbors and friends, and should be recognized for their dedication,  however most are over looked, and not supported.  We wanted to provide the promotion of these non-profits along with the focus on those giving back to encourage others to give as well.

With the current economy many people are not able to give to these organizations as much as they would, however I would like to encourage you to send a $1.00 if possible to a non-profit organization, or take can goods to your local food pantry, help out your community each pay day, by doing something.  Together we all can make a difference and the difference starts with dedication in giving to help others.

In the early morning of October 23, 2009, fire consumed Tut Henry’s home, and destroyed all that he owns.

Tut and girlfriend, Angel, were woken up by their dogs and got out of the door just in time.  If it had been 30 seconds later, they would have been unable to safely escape.  Tut, Angel and the dogs got out just in time, but were choking on smoke as they reached the door to exit their home.

Tut is the owner of the CBR’s 2008 Bull of the Year, and Number One Bull on Probullstats, Cochise.  Cochise remains unridden, and is a contender for 2009 CBR Bull of the Year.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tut and Angel, as they begin to pick up the pieces.  They are left with next to nothing, and need any help that others are willing and able to give.

Growing up in Sweden, Marrika was fascinated with two things since the age of 8, western movies and Rock and Roll. I am delighted that the Secretary of the Interior has announced reforms for the Wild Horse and Burro Program. Much of what the Secretary said yesterday echoes what I have said over the past eighteen months. Those concerns about the existing BLM program led me to seek a wild horse sanctuary/visitor center that would be available to the American people.

It is gratifying to know that the effort I have made the past year and a half to offer this project for the sake of the wild horses and the American people has borne fruit in Washington. I respect Secretary Salazar’s forthright candor in calling attention to this serious problem which has been ignored by the BLM for many years under previous administration.

I will support Secretary Salazar’s efforts, and will gladly compete to offer the wild horse sanctuary that I have planned to the BLM as one of the facilities proposed by Secretary Salazar.

CALGARY, ALTA. – The Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) is
pleased to announce the 2009 award winners for Stock of the Year, Timed
Event Horses of the Year, and the elected personnel for the 2009
Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR).

Voted on by members of the CPRA, these annual awards recognize the top
bucking stock, timed-event horses and the years top stock contractor, as
well as the Specialty Act and Announcer of the Year.

The Calgary Stampede has been voted Stock Contractor of the Year, and
has swept the bucking stock awards for 2009, the first such occurrence
since 1983 when Vold Rodeo Ltd. won all three stock awards.

Calgary Stampede’s L-40 Lynx Mountain picks up the Saddle Bronc Horse of
the Year title for the first time. The mare has been selected for CFR
twice, and made a trip to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las
Vegas in 2007.

Another Stampede horse, but one that needs little introduction, has
earned the Bareback Horse of the Year title for the sixth time. The
award-decorated stud G-65 Grated Coconut was previously honoured with
the title in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008. Runner-up was Grated
Coconut’s son, M-32 Majestic Rocket, a bucking powerhouse in his own right.

The black, brockle-faced bull C-301 Speed Dial, also from the Calgary
Stampede, has something to call home about, since being voted in as the
2009 Canadian Bull of the Year.

A record has been broken in the timed event end of the arena. Greg
Cassidy’s horse Willy wins Steer Wrestling Horse of the Year for the
sixth time, ousting Hall of Fame inductee Wes Zieffle’s outstanding
horse Twist from his long time position as the steer wrestling horse who
has won the most Horse of the Year titles, while Pincher, owned by Chad
Johnson of Del Bonita, Alta., was named Tie-Down Roping Horse of the
Year for the first time.

Reiner, owned by Okotoks, Alta. cowgirl Deb Renger, has been given the
award for Barrel Racing Horse With the Most Heart. It’s Reiner’s first
time receiving the title.

The Specialty Act of the Year award goes to Ash Cooper of Senlac, Sask.,
while the Announcer of the Year award goes to Les McIntyre of
Claresholm, Alta., a first time winner.

Heading to the CFR are pick-up men Gary Rempel of Fort Shaw, MT, making
his record-breaking 12th appearance at the Finals, and Jason Resch of
Fort Assiniboine, Alta., who makes his third straight appearance.

Bullfighting cousins Scott and Jesse Byrne, Saskatoon, Sask., are in the
arena together for the first time at CFR. For Scott, of Wainwright,
Alta., this is his eighth consecutive CFR appearance. This year’s
alternate is bullfighter David Sandilands of Esterhazy, Sask.

Once again, Brenda Vold and Maxine Baird will be the CFR timers.

during Navy vs. SMU Football Game on October 17th

( Dallas , Texas ) – Businesswoman and philanthropist Madeleine Pickens, Legendary Businessman and Financier T. Boone Pickens, Southern Methodist University (SMU) Head Football Coach June Jones, Pro Football Hall of Fame former Dallas Cowboys QB & Super Bowl MVP Roger Staubach and SMU President Dr. R. Gerald Turner have announced “Salute to the Mustangs,” an event to be held October 17 during pre-game and half time of the Navy Midshipmen vs. SMU Mustangs football game at Gerald Ford Stadium in Dallas, TX. Among the highlights of “Salute to the Mustangs” will be a performance by Western Music Hall of Fame inductee Michael Martin Murphey, who will be performing his wild horse-themed Platinum recording, “Wildfire”. It also will include a tribute to our Armed Forces, Wounded Warriors, United States War Dogs Association and Vet Dogs – organizations that provide loving animals who help support our Armed Forces and disabled veterans.

At the game, Madeleine Pickens will present Dr. Turner, Coach Jones and Southern Methodist University with a beautiful and trained Mustang as a gift to the school. The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a SMU towel that they can swirl around to show their support during the half time show.

“I’m sure there are people wondering why we are doing all of this,” said Madeleine Pickens. “One of my life’s passions is to protect and save America ’s Wild Horses — a living symbol of our American heritage and freedom. What better place to get the word out about protecting and saving wild horses than Dallas, Texas, and a football game at the home of the SMU Mustangs. We thought the perfect game would be against Navy, as we can not only salute the American Mustang, but we also can salute the men and women of our Armed Forces.”

Madeleine Pickens has proposed a plan by which her National Wild Horse Foundation, a private non-profit foundation, will establish a Sanctuary as a permanent home to protect and care for wild horses presently in captivity. The Sanctuary also would provide a location for the public to visit and appreciate these living symbols of our American heritage and freedom.

Madeleine Pickens’ National Wild Horse Foundation announced the formation of a 25-member Advisory Committee consisting of prominent entertainment and sports figures. The Committee presently consists of:
